things we should all do, but don’t

Life wasn’t meant to be hard and, in fact, many of the secrets to wealth, time, freedom and happiness are incredibly simple.

And yet somehow many of us succeed in making things tough for ourselves.

There are thousands of people who struggle to pay their bills, keep their weight down or deal with the problems they face.

Some turn to psychologists for help.

Some look for quick fixes.

Others just give up entirely.

Since you’re reading this you’re a person who goes looking for ideas and I do my best to share some of what I’ve discovered and experienced with you here in the hope that they’ll benefit you.

Today I thought I’d share with you my “duh” list.

I call it that because when you read them you’ll go, “duh, I know that.”

For most people it’s not that they don’t know what to do, it’s that they don’t do what they know.

These simple ideas can have a profound impact on our lives if we keep to them.

Success doesn’t happen overnight despite what you might read on the Internet or see on TV.

Step by step you will get where you’re going as long as you keep going.

I trust you’ll find the following ideas useful and somewhat obvious but we could all do with a little reminder every now and then.

  • Put aside a percent of your income for a rainy day
  • Be nice to people
  • Take care of your teeth
  • Manage your time
  • Eat healthily
  • Watch your weight
  • Educate yourself
  • Don’t lie
  • Drink water
  • Be willing to work hard
  • Smile
  • Thank people for their work
  • Buy what you need
  • Resist temptation
  • Keep promises
  • Read things carefully before you sign
  • Watch what you say
  • Do your homework
  • Organize your schedule
  • Spend within your means

“Duh, right?” I’m sure you can think of many more yourself.

But how many of them are we actually doing day in and day out?

So easy to do but even easier not to do.

Whether we’re talking about business, relationships or health a few small disciples can drastically change your results.

What things are on your “duh” list?
