When I first decided to make my own blog I must say I was slightly nervous.
Not because I didn’t think I knew enough but because I wasn’t sure I’d be able to continually come up with ideas that I could present in a way that was both fresh and easy-to-read while remaining true to my desire to share inspirational and powerful concepts with you.
You see, life is simple.
And it’s complicated at the same time.
I knew I had studied a lot, and I had lots to share…but just how much? That was what worried me.
Would I fizzle out like so many other blogs out there that haven’t been updated in over a year? What about those blogs that have one update once in a blue moon? The problem is that in today’s world everything is stamped – date and time.
It’s easy to know if someone is really putting in the effort to build their online business.
A quick check of their Twitter and Facebook accounts will give you an indication then just over to their website and take a look at their blogs and email blasts should tell you all you need to know about how seriously invested they are into their business.
There are so many great speakers out there that unfortunately have fallen into this trap and once it starts (or should I say stops?) it’s hard to break and by break I mean, get back into the habit.
So some of you might be wondering, “Well, how are you able to write 5 new posts a week?”
Good question – answer, I study.
In spite of having studied a ton of material before even writing my book I haven’t stopped, in fact, I’ve increased it. I stopped listening to music in my car and instead listen to a few of my favorite audio sessions over and over.
Today I must have spent about almost 3 hours studying stuff. Not bad, but not great. Tomorrow I hope to get anywhere from 4 to 5 hours done.
And here’s the really amazing part, the more I study, and the more I write – the better I get?! Who would have guessed?
And thanks to continually putting good ideas into my head these days I find inspiration in everything – TV dramas, comedies, a good novel, a speech, a commercial, a conversation, food, music…it’s simply amazing to me to see how easy it is for me to connect one dot to another so to speak these days.
That wasn’t the case starting out.
If you compare my first posts to the ones I write today I think you’ll be able to see the growth in not only my writing but the ideas contained within them and I hope that next year you’ll find my posts even more engrossing.
So, why am I telling you all this? I’m telling you because each and everyone of us can become the person we want to be, if we are willing to invest the time, the energy and sometimes yes, the money.
It won’t happen overnight but if you want to learn a new skill all one has to do is get started, then keep at it.
It may be simple, but as we all know, it’s not that easy.
I hope that you will consider taking up the challenge.
