laughter is the best medicine

It might sound strange for me to call laughter a success tool but there’s nothing better than laughter when you’re feeling down.

I love just sitting down to watch a good comedy with family and friends. We share in the moments and retell our favorite parts afterwards, sometimes to the point of tears.

With such a powerful tool available to us at our local video store or the iTunes store it makes sense we take advantage of laughter when we need it.

But all comedies were not created equal so I’ve compiled a list of some of the greatest comedies ever.

How did I come up with this list?

Well, first, I watched a ton of movies.

Second, I have never forgotten these movies. If they’re forgettable they don’t make the list.

And third, every movie on this list I can watch more than 3 times and still laugh – stayability ranks high on my scale.

So without further ado, I give you my list of best comedies.

  • Overboard
  • Groundhog Day
  • Tommy Boy
  • The Hangover
  • Old School
  • Stripes
  • Spies like us
  • National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
  • Beverly Hills Cop 1 & 2
  • Wedding Crashers
  • Hear no evil, see no evil
  • There’s something about mary
  • My Cousin Vinny
  • What about Bob?
  • Trading Places
  • Planes, Trains and Automobiles
  • Liar Liar
  • American Pie
  • 50 First Dates
  • How to lose a guy in 10 days

If you’re wondering about TV shows I decided to leave them for another day. For now these will keep you going.

Let me know what you think.

Enjoy,

Adrian Shepherd

  1. Laughter is great medicine, I try to watch and participate in things on a daily basis that induces laughter. You just feel better emotionally, mentally and physically when you crack up loudly and unabashedly. I’ve seen everything on your list except two. You might want to check out, “Dinner for Shmucks” and “Macgruber”, they’re hilarious.
