Success involves perseverance, dedication, hard work, and study to name just a few things.
One area that I feel is overlooked is that of R & R.
I respect people who want to get things done, especially in business but we should also realize that we have our limits.
The human body and mind require rest to be at optimum condition.
Which is why we all should take time to recharge our batteries.
In our fast-paced world we sometimes get so busy doing that we forget to just sit back and think.
Personally I try to take one or two short little breaks every year along with a longer break over X-Mas.
Taking a step back at the end of each year allows me to appreciate all that I have accomplished as well as think about what awaits me the following year.
Working hard is a good thing, but if we’re so stressed out that it’s dramatically affecting other parts of our lives then we really need to take a good hard look at what we’re doing.
That’s why R & R is so vitally important.
R & R helps us get rid of some of our day-to-day stresses.
I know that I feel a whole lot better, both physically and mentally, after a nice massage and if my muscles could talk I’m sure they’d say, “Thanks for that.”
Life is all about balance – too much work and we’ll find ourselves in an early grave. Too much rest and our mind goes numb.
Maybe God did get it right – six days work, one day rest.
