we all need STAGs for achievement and BHAGs to drive us

287 posts.

Hours upon hours of study.

Numerous discussions with clients.

One seminar.

All that in just one short year.

www.isucceedbook.com passed its one-year anniversary a short while back.

As my mentor Jim Rohn once said, “If you share a good idea long enough, it will eventually fall on good people.” That’s my goal. To continue writing and sharing in hopes that these posts find their way to more people like you.

When I first started out I knew I knew my material, but I admit I wasn’t sure I’d be able to keep it up. Writing any blog on a regular basis takes time, effort and dedication.

At first, I kept things short and sweet, but the more I got into it, the more I couldn’t help writing.

Now I believe I’m writing some of my best work and yet I know there’s still room for improvement.

With the end of the year rapidly approaching, I thought I should share with you just what those improvements will be.

2011 was all about getting things rolling. My book, iSucceed, ran into setback after setback. Pushing back the original release date 6 months, despite having finished writing it. The next step is to get my audio book finished along with the digital versions. (the Kindle version was added a week or so ago)

With those out of my way I can move onto more exciting projects.

Just the other day, for the first time ever, I actually sat down and established my 5 major goals for next year. It was quite an eye-opening experience. Once I found what I really wanted it made the planning that much easier. On top of that, establishing those goals really got my blood pumping and since that time I have spent much of my free time throwing ideas around on how to make them a reality.

These goals aren’t STAGs (short term achievable goals), but big, hairy, audacious goals, or BHAGs as they are commonly referred to in self-development books.

So take note – always be willing to invest a few hours to come up with your own personal BHAGs. It’s time well spent.

One of my major goals for 2012 focuses around seminars. I intend to focus on two main areas:

  • iSucceed principles (aka personal development)
  • The Financial Future

I am most excited about these. While I haven’t been fortunate enough to have attended any seminars myself, in my possession I have quite a few DVDs on seminars given by the likes of Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, and Robert Kiyosaki and have found these the most powerful of all learning outside of 1-on-1 coaching.

They will both require a large investment of time but believe this is the next logical step for me. I also intend to record these events and make them available on this site.

Interviews will also play a major part of 2012. I intend to be interviewed, as well as interview people from a variety of fields to get their take on what it takes to be a success.

Over the X-Mas break I have already got a few radio interviews organized and will also be giving a short talk on, of all days, January 1st.

What a great way to get the new year rolling.

I’ve been working on my speech for a week or so now and realize that it’s harder than most people think to compress information. But with practice it’ll get easier.

Another part will be vlogs (video diaries) – which I plan to post once or twice a week. (fingers crossed)

Coaching calls will also be made available via skype for those looking for personal consultation.

On top of that I intend to also offer teleseminars later in the year.

That might sound like a lot, but it’s all connected to one simple idea – to share ideas that matter with people who care. Namely, you.

One of the most common mistakes any speaker or author can make is to not make him or herself available to others. Personally, I’d love to be able to get more products from some of my favorite authors – only one problem, they don’t have any. So I have to settle with what I can find.

Until now I’ve refrained from making myself available so as not to lock up my time, but I feel that I’m not only ready and it’s needed in the marketplace what with all the challenges that are going on around us.

2012 will be an exciting year for myself and isucceedbook.com.

Are you as excited about the new year as I am?

If not, get some new goals. Remember, they cost nothing, but they have the power to change your entire outlook on life.

Remember STAGs to achieve, BHAGs for drive.
