You may have heard the expression “timing is everything,” and for good reason.
If we look back at our lives it’s amazing how some things seem to fall into place while others just never work out no matter how hard we try.
I remember back when I was 23, I had to choose between going to Australia to get my masters or to come to Japan to work.
I was torn between the two but finally made a decision that if I got accepted by one university I would go, and if I got turned down I’d head off to Japan.
I sent off my papers for grad school and waited.
And waited.
With the beginning of the semester rapidly approaching and no reply I was getting more and more nervous.
Finally I decided that I could wait no longer and told my father that I would go to Japan.
And wouldn’t you know it, the very next day I got my acceptance letter.
I asked my father what he would do and he said that I should go to Australia.
And I was tempted…but I had already made up my mind.
So I came to Japan.
And it worked out for me.
I built up my business, met my wife and wrote iSucceed.
Who knows what would have happened had I chosen to go to Australia.
We just never know when we’ll meet someone or experience something that will change our lives forever.
Over the course of our lives there are more opportunities to become wealthy, influential, and successful than we can ever take advantage of.
As a child we have freedom but no money, as adults we have money but no time.
But no matter what age we are the key is preparation and study.
Through our own improvement more opportunities become aware to us.
Which is why it pays big bucks to study.
School gives us the foundation necessary to learn almost anything else we could ever want.
But it’s up to us to do the rest.
The books are out there. Books that can teach us how to become successful in every field imaginable.
Now we have access to some of the greatest minds out there thanks to DVD trainings.
And there are seminars we can attend.
The only question is whether we’ll go in search of them.
Or will we sit idly by – hoping and praying that things will magically go our way.
Sometimes we hear people say that their friend “got lucky” and the only reason they’re wealthy or successful is because there were in the right place at the right time.
But timing isn’t enough.
It’s not enough to be at the right place at the right time.
We must be the right person.
Will you be?
