Forget what they teach you…
Life is tough. And success, tougher still.
Success doesn’t just fall on your lap, it’s something that must be undertaken.
But maybe that’s the way it’s supposed to be. A challenge set for any one of us who desires more.
And make no mistake about it, there is a price that must be paid for any great endeavor.
Hours upon hours of practice are just part of the deal for any athlete.
CEOs often pay the price in blood and sweat not to mention years of education.
The cost must be paid in at least one of three ways:
- Money
- Effort
- Time
I’ve paid my dues.
I paid them in all three.
Money I’ve lost was really an investment in my own education.
Effort I’ve spent helped me hone my body and mind.
Time I’ve invested has shown me the importance as well as the power of our most valuable resource.
You see, you’ve got to be willing to fight for what you want.
You’ve got to want it for yourself. You’ve got to want it more than your competitors. You’ve got to want it more than anything. And I do.
My mentor, Jim Rohn, called it enlightened self-interest.
Me, I call it being selfish.
The reason I started this post was for you, my readers.
But over time I began to realize that this was just as much for me as it was for you, maybe more so.
With each new post I write, I improve.
Each new idea, stimulates more ideas.
Every post, every podcast, every video takes me one step closer to my goal.
And it’s not easy. There are times when I want to quit.
Just like the woman who wants to lose 10 pounds or the man who wants the rock hard abs…starting may be the toughest part, but the constantly doing is a close second.
It wears on you, not getting the results you desire quick enough.
But in life there is only one way to fail, and that is to stop.
Most do.
That’s why success is reserved for those who strive. Not those who wait, not those who hope.
Each obstacle I meet challenges me to be just a little bit better than I was the day before.
And by overcoming each new obstacle, I shape who I am, and what I can become.
My seminars help me improve my speaking skills, organizational skills & persuasion skills.
All the while I am able to achieve my goal of getting my message out there to you.
That’s why if you’re serious about being an expect, author, marketer, speaker, creator then you should be constantly be creating new posts, podcasts, Youtube videos and share it with the world.
Starting out I never would have imagined I would be able to write 400 posts…on success.
But here I am.
And we’re just scratching the surface.
Each new book, new audio presentation or DVD I go through gives me more fuel for fire.
It helps me share more with you. How great is that?!
I listen to hours upon hours of marketing tips, business ideas, financial reports and so much more then it’s my job to sit down and extract simply the best I can find.
That’s what I love.
So get selfish.
Do what you love. Help others. And make a difference.
